In a remarkable display of resolve and efficiency, the Nigerian presidency under President Bola Tinubu has once again demonstrated its commitment to the safety and security of its citizens.
In back-to-back displays of determination, the Nigerian government has secured the release of abducted victims in Kebbi and Kwara States, earning praise from the Pan-African United Development Network (PAUDEN). These successes highlight the effectiveness of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in tackling banditry and ensuring citizen safety.
Kebbi Schoolgirls: A Rapid Rescue Operation
On November 17, 2025, armed bandits stormed a government boarding school in northwestern Nigeria’s Kebbi State, abducting 24 young girls in a brazen attack that sent shockwaves across the nation. This incident, part of a troubling pattern of school abductions in the region, highlighted the ongoing challenges posed by insecurity. However, within days, security forces orchestrated a successful rescue operation, freeing all the girls without concessions to the perpetrators. President Tinubu’s administration praised the military and intelligence agencies for their rapid and coordinated efforts, ensuring the safe return of the victims to their families.
Kwara Church Abduction: Freedom Restored
On November 18, 2025, gunmen invaded a worship service at Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State, central Nigeria, kidnapping 38 congregants in a shocking violation of sacred spaces. The attack raised concerns about escalating violence targeting religious groups. However, through a joint operation involving federal and state security forces, all 38 individuals were freed and reunited with their loved ones by November 23, 2025. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and President Bola Tinubu highlighted the collaborative effort that led to this outcome, emphasizing no ransom was paid.
PAUDEN commends these efforts, which protect education and faith—key pillars of African development and views this as a testament to effective governance and inter-agency cooperation, crucial for maintaining peace in diverse African societies.
Fostering Pan-African Solidarity
We salute President Tinubu for leading with resolve.
PAUDEN calls for enhanced regional partnerships to prevent future incidents, including awareness campaigns and infrastructure support. Let’s work together for a secure and prosperous Africa.
